GreenRoc Strategic Materials PLC signs letter of interest for graphite anode plant in Norway

GreenRoc Strategic Materials PLC, a prominent mining company based in Greenland, has recently signed a Letter of Interest to establish a new graphite anode material plant in Southern Norway. The company is also seeking EU Strategic Project status to benefit from financial support and expedited permitting processes.

The decision to set up the plant in Norway reflects the country’s low energy costs, commitment to sustainability, and its well-developed industrial infrastructure, particularly within a battery-focused industrial park. This strategic move is aimed at enhancing GreenRoc’s capabilities in the growing field of battery technology.

In addition to this development, GreenRoc is advancing its efforts to obtain an Exploitation Licence for its Amitsoq Graphite Mine. The company has submitted the necessary Project Description to the Greenland Government as part of this process.

By aligning its operations with Norway’s industrial strengths and leveraging potential EU support, GreenRoc aims to strengthen its position in the critical materials market and support the transition to more sustainable technologies.
